Mike Huckabee Commercial: Is it a Cross?

Receiving more attention than it probably should, the big question surrounding Mike Huckabee’s latest presidential campaign commercial is whether a book shelf in the background was strategically lit to subliminally look like a cross?

Although Huckabee has denied anything subliminal, from an advertisers perspective I think the producers were well aware what they were doing. I’ll let you be the judge by watching the video below.

Wow! It’s a window pane!(whatever)If you go back and look closely you may or may not see the true message of Christmas and Christ. It all depends on one’s perspective (mine happens to be bible-based). ” Whether are not we are aware of it, everyone has an agenda, mine happens to be to do the will of God.” - Chris Peterson

    Chris-

I could certainly see it being a window pane, but it looks like something is sitting on it. I’m not sure what those are.

Thanks for the comment. May god bless you this Christmas season as well!

It’s a bookshelf next to a fireplace. There’s some Christmas decorations on it. Looks like some garland hanging on the right flowing downward then some glass globe ornaments come into view. To the left coming into the shot is a Christmas Tree. This is called a dolly shot, the camera is moving from left to right. This is a very well produced commercial and the fact that it appears that there’s a cross in the background could be intentional or the right things came together at the right time in the right places and they just went with it. Good job to the Director of Photography, and the Cameraman and Grip.
