Shaquille O’Neal vs. Kobe Bryant Part II: Shaq’s Rap

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. Specifically how Kobe Bryant had the opportunity to make his mark on history as quite possibly the best player of all-time, ahead of Michael Jordan. And to do that, of course we would have needed to win the NBA Finals without the help of Shaquille O’Neal.

Fast forward to two weeks later, Kobe and the Lakers were handled by the Boston Celtics and the big three, and Shaq must have heard of or read a couple blogs like mine because Shaq went off on Kobe in a rap. I must admit that it is funny, but at the same time - “Come on dawg.” Shaq must have know he crossed the line with some racial stuff, with some comments about how part of his body tastes. But I guess, if Kobe really did cause his divorse, then…what can I say.

Kobe Bryant vs. Shaquille (Shaq) O’Neal: A Look Back

Shaq and Kobe BryantTonight Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers will take on the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals. It is the first time the Lakers have been in the finals since 2004, which coincidentally was the last year the Lakers had both Shaq and Kobe.

Following that 2004 finals loss to the Detroit Pistons, both Kobe and Shaq were placing blame on each other. For Lakers General Manager, Jerry West, it was clear that someone had to go.

For West and the Lakers, they decided to let the big man walk away.

At the time, the move warranted a lot of criticisms as Shaq, still in his prime, led the Miami Heat straight to a championship. Bryant on the otherhand was still trying to shake the image of a self-centered and arrogant man who cheated on his wife.

Fast forward to today… On the Phoenix Suns, Shaq looks like a arthritis ridden great dane trying to play with a bunch of golden retievers. On the other hand, Kobe Bryant is 29-years-old and the arguement has been made by many in comparing him to Michael Jordan. As a team the Lakers have a bunch of young players that look prepped to go on a nice five year run of winning two or three championships.

So even though at the time, Jerry West looked crazy for holding on to a tainted Kobe Bryant - he is looking more and more like a genius everyday.

NDSU Football Players Mike Dragosovich and Joe Mays Featured on DraftGuys.tv

Mike Dragosavich - NDSU v. Minnesota FootballIt is exciting, but certainly not unheard of for a player from North Dakota State University to make it to the NFL. This year, it is a good chance that the Bison will have two.

Former NDSU inside linebacker Joe Mays was drafted in the sixth round of the NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles and former Bison punter Mike Dragosovich was signed as free agent by the New England Patriots.

Both are very upstanding men, deserving of the opportunity to play in the NFL. You can see what kind of men they are by the very candid, yet intelligent interviews they gave with the guys from DraftGuys.tv.

As a former teammate and player at North Dakota State – I would just like to send them the message that we are all very proud of them and that we wish them the best.

And to all of the other players that helped NDSU go 10-1 in each of the last two seasons, we couldn’t be more proud of you too. Keep up the good work! Go Bison!

Timberwolves Pay the Pick, SEO Rap and Photoshop Disasters

Minnesota Timberwolves LogoTimberwolves Pay the Pick Promotion - Timberwolves.com
I am not sure the average attendance at Minnesota Timberwolves games, however one Timberwolves blog suggested the team was averaging under 15,000 as of mid-December. With the continued losing, it is hard to imagine it got any higher than that.

This year the Timberwolves decided to put together a promotion, selling season tickets at a per ticket dollar amount equal to the team’s lottery draft number. Meaning that if the Timberwolves get the number one pick, each ticket costs one dollar. The kicker is that you have to buy the tickets before the draft, but that didn’t stop me. I picked up my tickets yesterday morning and am very much looking forward to the upcoming season. Go Timberwolves!

Design Code, SEO Rap – Youtube
The Poetic Prophet (AKA The SEO Rapper) breaks down search engine optimization with another marketing rap. This time he describes how web standards and proper design can affect the ranking and conversion of pages on your site. The poetic prophet works at Poplabs in Houston, Tex. I was most impressed by the thoroughness and accuracy of what he says. It is pretty cool.

Red Bull: Gives You Nightmares – Photoshop Disasters
Photoshop Disasters is a pretty funny web site that looks for exactly what is soundslike – photoshop disasters. Readers can submit examples that they find. I hope they don’t check out my web sites. j/k
